Dual Enrollment for Private School Students
Step 1: Student Must Verify That Their Private School Has an Articulation Agreement on File
Step 2: Complete the Online DE Admissions Application via the Slate Portal
- Click the “Apply to PHSC” link located on the Banner on the PHSC Website Homepage.
- First-time users can click on "Create an account" to start a new application.
- Use personal email
- Students will receive an email to activate their account with a temporary PIN.
- Create a password
- Complete personal information
- Complete additional information
- Choose:
- Enrollment Type: Dual Enrollment
- Term to Start
- Major
- Choose:
- Complete military information
- Use personal email
- Sign and submit application
- Students will receive a confirmation email when submitted.
- Students can track their application status via the Slate portal by logging in as a returning user with the credentials created to submit the application.
Step 3: Check Admission Status
- Once the application is processed and an acceptance decision has been made, students can open their Decision Made letter located in the Slate portal.
- In about 48 hours, students will be able to view their PHSC student email address on the Slate portal.
- A default password will be provided.
Step 4: Before Registering for Classes
- Click the "MyPHSC" link located on the PHSC website homepage to log into the Bobcat Portal using a PHSC student email address and default password.
- Complete both of the following found in Canvas:
- New Student Orientation
- Online Readiness Course
Canvas is found within the Student Quick Links on the student's MyPHSC Bobcat Portal.
- Student must take the PERT placement test or submit CLT, SAT or ACT scores that are less than two years old to the Admissions office. To schedule a PERT test, the student should visit the PHSC Testing Services to schedule a test. The PERT consists of three sections: Reading, Writing and Math. Students are allowed a maximum of two attempts at taking the PERT. The test scores will determine which classes the student is eligible to take. Students must score at college level in Reading and Writing to participate in Dual Enrollment.
Step 5: Register for Classes
- Class registration takes place beginning on specific dates for each semester, based on student grade level. For information on the registration process, please contact the Advising office.
- For more information on academic advising meetings, visit the Advising website.
- Complete the Dual Enrollment Registration Permission Form. This form must list the requested classes and be signed by the high school authorized signer, parent and student. Please provide this completed form and a photo ID during the advising appointment.
