Can I register for classes without completing the Dual Enrollment Online Orientation?

Dual enrollment students will not be permitted to register for classes until the Dual Enrollment Online Orientation course has been completed and the student hold removed.

Do I have to complete the Dual Enrollment Online Orientation in one sitting?

No. You may complete the course in one sitting or come and go from the course – even over several days. The modules you completed will be saved, so you can pick up where you left off.

How can I sign up for the Dual Enrollment Online Orientation?

All new and continuing dual enrollment students who have completed the Online Dual Enrollment application are automatically enrolled in the Dual Enrollment Online Orientation course.

How do I access the Canvas learning platform?
  1. Go to myPHSC Bobcat Portal.
  2. Click on Canvas, after you have successfully entered the myPHSC portal.
  3. Accept the invitation (in Canvas) to join the Dual Enrollment Online Orientation. If you do not see the invitation to accept at the top of the Canvas page, the Dual Enrollment Online Orientation can be found under the ‘Courses’ tab.
  4. Complete the Online Readiness Course located in the ‘Courses’ tab, after completing the Dual Enrollment Online Orientation. Completion of the Online Readiness Course is required to register for any online class.
How long does the Dual Enrollment Online Orientation take?

It varies, of course, but you should be able to complete it in two hours. At the end of each module, you will have to take a quiz, and you must achieve 100 percent before you can move on to the next module. So, don’t just scan the information – it might be in a question at the end!

Is the Dual Enrollment Online Orientation mandatory?

Yes, effective Fall semester 2019 (20201), all dual enrollment students must successfully complete the Dual Enrollment Online Orientation.

What if I don’t score 80 percent or higher on the Dual Enrollment Online Orientation final comprehension quiz?

You may take the final quiz as many times as you need to reach the 80 percent score required. You may also go back into the course to review areas as needed.

When will the Dual Enrollment Online Orientation student hold be removed?

The Dual Enrollment Online Orientation student hold will be removed automatically. However, please allow approximately 24 hours for the hold to be removed.
