Public and Charter SchoolDual Enrollment for Public or Charter Schools
High school students who attend a public or charter school can register through the dual enrollment online registration form.
Eligibility Requirements
- Current student within Hernando or Pasco County School Districts
- Students must be classified as 6th-12th grade.
- 3.0 unweighted high school GPA for college credit courses or 2.0 unweighted GPA for technical credit courses.
- Submit qualifying test scores: In accordance with State Board of Education Rule 6A-10.0315, students must successfully complete all sections of a common placement test, through scores on a single test or combination of tests and meet all college ready cut score requirements as a prerequisite to Dual Enrollment eligibility and participation. PHSC accepts the highest test scores on any of the tests or combinations of tests identified in the chart found on our Testing Services website.
Once eligibility has been determined, public and charter school dual enrollment students should talk to their high school counselor or administrator before completing the dual enrollment online registration.
Steps to complete dual enrollment online registration:
- Complete the Online Dual Enrollment Admissions Application.
New dual enrollment students must complete the online Dual Enrollment Admissions Application by clicking “Apply to PHSC” in the Links section of this page. Once you create an account and login, you will select “New” student and “Dual Enrollment” as your student/enrollment type.
Students can follow the status of their application in the Slate application portal. Upon acceptance, students will receive an electronic letter in the portal. Students must open the electronic letter to receive a PHSC student email address.
For Pasco County Public School Students Only: Complete the Course Request Planning Worksheet, provided by student's school district, and submit by the designated deadline to the respective school counselor. - Dual enrollment students must complete the New Student Orientation and Online Readiness Courses, prior to registration. (Both courses are available under the Links)
- Log in to the Dual Enrollment Online Request Form
- New Dual Enrollment students, you will need your PHSC email address to complete the Online Request Form. Your default password is PhStudentIDnumber (i.e. PhP00223344).
Complete the form with your information and the courses requested for the current semester only.
*If a dual enrollment course is offered at your high school campus and/or Pasco eSchool for Pasco County Schools students – you MUST take the dual enrollment course there. - Parent/guardian will receive an email notification and must log in to the Dual Enrollment Online Request Form and digitally sign the Terms and Conditions for their child’s participation in the Dual Enrollment Program by the established deadline provided by the school district.
- High School counselor processes request and submits supporting documentation (unweighted GPA and test scores) by the established deadline provided by the school district.
- PHSC Academic Advisor reviews request and approves or denies courses based on student's academic history.
- Student receives approval or denial of courses for the semester and follows registration policies and dates based on their grade level.
